Jacob Marion Shuler

Shuler, Jacob Marion, 17 Nov 1847 - 17 Mar 1924. Enlisted 1 Sep 1864, in Co F, 29th North Carolina troops. Participated in the defense of Mobile and was captured at Spanish Fort, just east of Mobile, on 8 Apr 1865. He was imprisoned at Ship Island, MS, 10 Apr 1865, transferred to Vicksburg MS on 1 May 1865, and paroled 11 May 1865. He is buried in the Shuler Cemetery.
